As IKEA just launched her new PS collection I did already find
out what my favorites are. Although the ‘living in the moment’ part of the ‘raison
d’être’ of the collection makes me feel a bit allergic -this sentence seems to
be anywhere at anytime these days- I like the collection very much because it
is aimed at small living spaces...
Since I am a student, living in a small room, in a small
student house, this might be the first PS collection of which I can purchase
one of the ‘bigger’ pieces.
Among the collection of well designed, practical furniture
made out of nice materials I like the wall shelf of Japanese designer Keiji
Ashizawa (who also designed the cute corner closet) the most. The birch version will do perfect in my room for organizing
my bags, scarfs and magazines that normally are lying around everywhere.
In case my room appears to have too few space for the wall
shelf I will go for the hat and coat stand designed by Ebba Strandmark. Of
course the version made out of birch.
Furthermore I like the designs of Tomás Alonso very much
because of their simplicity and the combination of powder coated steel and bamboo.
The first of April, most of the products will be available in the
IKEA stores.
